attempt One

Rubbing my eyes sometimes induces afterimages of yellowish hexagons. Though I have not yet been able to emulated these afterimages, I created some other interesting patterns.
"Rub" your eyes by mousing over or tapping on the images in different places.

This one captures a bit more variation in the forms I see. I don't see rotating hexagons but I thought these were cool.

attempt Three

I wanted to round out the hexagons, and went with squares for simplicity.
