Mobius collective
The Mobius Collective is a group of Yukon based artists with backgrounds in visual arts, music,
performance, writing, film, and science.
Our goal is to explore the micro and macro workings of our world, in collaboration with local writers, scientists, musicians and contemplators of all stripes. We hope to create intimate moments that allow us to tap into our humanity and connect to our environment, ourselves and to one another.
We are interested in both low and high tech, both analog and digital ways to experience and translate the world. We use regularly overhead projectors, sharpies, Adobe software, harmonica, paper maps, compass, groovy algorithms, duct tape, diesel, solar power, nonsense, Weebly, loop distortion, GPS, Microsoft, entropy and campfires.
Our first project/performance at Ramshackle Theatre's 2014 Theatre in the Bush, was called Stardust Museum and involved live video shadow projection, original and ancient borrowed poetry, antique glass, natural history installation and live soundscape. After that, we presented Sun Cabaret and Dusky Calling, also at Theatre in the Bush. In February 2016, we represented version - s of these events, alongside original paintings and photographs, for Event Horizon, at Arts Underground Gallery, Yukon Arts Society. In 2017 we took Stardust Museum to Ottawa for the 150th birthday party. In 2018, we had a show of paintings and poetry at the Odd Gallery in Dawson, and set up Bone Chain for anther Theatre in the Bush.
Currently, Peter is documenting his 45 years of ski trips in the Yukon. Map and compass to ArcGIS, photoalbums to memory sticks and Jpegs. Stay tuned!
